Abstract: Abstract In order to uncover the unearthed concreted silk, we analyzed the main concreted materials, and developed a kind of uncover agent which was specific to the silk unearthed in Baoen temple of Nanjing. Uncovering tests were performed at a temperature of 30℃, a relative humidity of 70%, and 10 min after spraying the uncover agent. The structure and properties of the concreted silk were measured before and after spraying the uncover agent. The results show that the breaking strength, elongation at break, chromatic aberration, infra-red spectrogram, thermal behavior and amino-acid content of the concreted silk have no obvious changes, with the concretion force decreasing a lot in the case of uncovering test at the assisting of the developed uncover agent. This shows that the developed uncover agent can be applied in the unearthed concreted silk.’
