Movement law of nep in electrostatic field

Abstract: Movement law of nep in electrostatic field was studied. Some fiber neps and seed coat neps (SCN) were randomly selected from different materials and placed in a self-made electrostatic device, and their state of charging and take-off was observed by adjusting static voltage. The volatages of different neps when they take off electrostatic plate were recorded and the ranges were also obtained. The results show average electric field intensity of SCN is bigger than that of fiber nep when they take off electrostatic plate. The average electric field intensity had a positive linear correlation with their average size. These conclusions laid the theoretical foundations for applying of electrostatic web-cleaner on carding machine.
