Abstract: Air flow in the spinning rotor is very complicated and the effect of rotor parameters on the flow behavior is not clear. Considering above status, simulations of air flow in the spinning rotor channel are done, and influences of rotor speed and geometric parameters on the air flow are analyzed. It is found from the results that flow structure in the spinning rotor changes significantly with the variations of rotor speed and geometric parameters. This is due to the balance of low pressure zone caused by rotation and another low pressure region in the export of fiber feeding tube. The axial symmetry of vortex structure in the rotor meridional plane is best while the angular velocity is 2000rad/s and slip angle is 22°. In this case, the pulsation and vibration caused by the air flow are smallest. The above research results provide with reference to the design of rotor spinning machines.
