Abstract:

In order to study the deep color dyeing by foam technology of cotton fabrics with reactive dye, the build-up property of Reactive Red KE-3B in foam dyeing was investigated. Aiming at promote the application of foam dyeing in textile processing, fixation rate and relation between K/S value and fixation time in light color dyeing and deep color dyeing during foam dyeing of cotton fabric were studied with different types of reactive dyes. The results indicated that Reactive Red KE-3B had excellent build-up property in foam dying, and dyed fabric had great leveling properties. All dye fixations of foam dyeing with different types of reactive dyes could reach 70%~90%. The highest fixation could be obtained using KN reactive dye and fixation rate order was Reactive Black KN-B>Reactive Red K-2G> Reactive Red KE-3B>Reactive Red X-3B.

Key words: deep color dyeing, foam dyeing, cotton fabric, reactive dye, fixation rate
