The electrospinning of zein was performed with glacial acetic acid, and the morphology of the zein fibers was investigated by scanning electron microscopy. Box-Behnken experimental design was employed with three main influential parameters, i.e. zein mass concentration, electric field intensity and flow rate, as the independent variables and the diameter of the zein fibers as the investigative object. The multiple regression model was set up by regression analysis. The results indicate that the zein mass concentration has the most significant influence on the diameter of the fibers, and the next is the interaction item of the electric field intensity and flow rate. The observed responses are in close agreement with the predicted values of the model. By using of response surface design, the process of experiment at design was simplified and the condition of the desired fiber diameter could be obtained easily according to the model. This has a great significance to produce nanofibers via electrospinning.

Chitosan was dissolved in trifluoroacetic acid to fabricate CS nanofibers by electrospinning. The effect of solution mass concentration and the nonionic surfactant on electrospun nanofibers morphology was investigated by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) .The results show that the appropriate solution mass concentration of chitosan for electrospinning was from 3% to 6%; Significance test proved that solution mass concentration was the important factor to the fibers diameter; Spinnability of solution was improved by adding nonionic surfactant TX-15. The fine morphology of chitosan nanofiber could be obtained by adding mass concentration 2.5% of TX-15 into elctrospinning solution with 5% concentration.

In order to understand the spectroscopic characteristics of chemical fibers in the terahertz region, the research trys to obtain the transmission spectra of three kinds of chemical fiber (Polyester, Kevlar 1414, Vinylon) by Tetahertz time-domain spectroscopy techniques and free-space electro-optic sampling method. And then the absorption coefficient and refractive index of the three fibers in the 0.2-1.0 terahertz region have been calculated. The experimental results indicate that the three fibers have the special response in terahertz spectral range, which could be used to detect the molecular structure and vibration of the sample. The results confirmed that the spectroscopy of different chemical fibers varies in the far-infrared region, terahertz spectrum can be used as complementary technology of the infrared spectrum to identify various chemical fibers.

Because the forming of yarn is characterized by the changes of the space arrangement orderliness of the short fibers or the filaments, so there exists the entropy change phenomenon, and in most cases of texturing there is an increasing of the system entropy. The entropy is a state function, thus the entropy changing of the textured yarn has a close relationship with its bulk. Further theoretical derivation has showed that the texturing entropy changing is in proportion to the log of bulk index, as well as to the bulky; the disordering degree shares the same value with bulk index, so it also goes directly with the bulky, all experimental values are in good agreement with this results. Because textured yarn has a pair of equal valued disordering degree and bulk index, the former can be measured by testing the bulk index of it, further, the texturing entropy changing can be studied in quantization.

In order to acquire an understanding of the effect of 3-D crimped PTT/PET component yarn and fabric parameters on the tensile strength of the fabric. 33 types of fabrics were woven by varying the proportion of PTT/PET bi-component filament, twists, density and textile weave, and the tensile strength of these fabrics was tested. It was found that PTT/PET bi-component filament fabrics have high breaking elongation but low tensile strength, and exhibit high elongation under low load. Under the same condition, increasing the content of PTT/PET filament in the weft decrease the tensile strength but increases the breaking elongation. Weft density mainly affects the tensile strength orther than breaking elongation. The twist of PTT/PET filament has significant effect on the tensile property of the fabric under low load, but it varies with textile weave.

In order to develop the application of FAST testing system in the area of testing , evaluating, and predicting wool fabrics’ overfeeding sewing-shrinkage, The theory model was found between the ratio of fabric sewing-shrinkage, the ratio of fabrics’ bending modulus to stretching modulus (modulus ratio of bending and stretching), and fabric overfeeding capacity and other physical items. Based on analyzing the relationship between wool fabrics’ modulus ratio of bending to stretching and the testing items by FAST system, the formula for calculating the modulus ratio of bending to stretching has been established. There is a good leaning relationship between calculating value by using this formula and practical testing value, and this research has extended the application of FAST testing system in the area of optimizing sewing technology design and predicting fabrics’ sewing effect.

The influence of fiber property on hydroentangling process and fiber entanglement was researched. The rule and action on entanglement of fibers with different properties by spraying with high speed jets of water were analyzed. The result showed that the effect of entanglement increased with increasing water-jet pressure and decreasing speed of support belt; when fibers have the same length and fineness, the fiber which has smaller bending rigidity and better hydroscopicity and bigger frictional coefficient can entangle better under the same jet spraying force and time; The hydrophilic property of spunlaced fabric is related to fiber entanglement degree and fiber hydroscopicity

For developing a high-efficient, energy-saving and environmental-friendly low temperature dyeing technology of disperse dyes, the role of novel promoter BEA in low temperature dyeing of polyester fiber with disperse dyes was investigated. The effects of BEA on the solubility of disperse dyes in water and on the glass transition temperature of polyester fiber were studied by solubility experiment and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), and a series of corresponding dyeing experiments were carried out. It was found that BEA promoted solubilization of disperse dyes and had plasticizing effect for polyester fiber, thus promoter BEA exhibited excellent accelerating dyeing action. However, There existed an optimal concentration of the promoter, i.e., 0.8 g/L when the disperse dyes concentration was 6% (o.w.f) and the dyeing temperature 108℃. Around this concentration, the addition of BEA into dye bath can improve the dyeing rate, dye uptake and K/S value obviously, and its good dyeing accelerating effect makes it possible that the dyeing result of low temperature dyeing is close to, or even better than, those of high temperature and pressure dyeing.

The aim of this study was to gain some insight into the kinetics of reactive dye when uptaking on the fiber. The methanolysis and hydrolysis of monochlorotriazine C.I. Reactive Yellow 2 in basic methanol & water solution under different conditions were studied, and the rate constants of these reactions, when pH=10, were also determined. It was found that when the temperature at 80℃ and pH = 9~12, the methanolysis efficiency decreased as the time increased, and higher the pH value, faster decreased the methanolysis. Increasing pH value was disadvantageous to alcoholysis, i.e., the superiority of alcoholysis reaction of dye lowered and, when pH=10, the methanolysis reaction rate contants were 2-3 times of that of hydrolysis reaction under 50~70℃, but were almost equal to that of hydrolysis reaction when the temperature was 80~95℃. It was also found that both the methanolysis and hydrolysis reactions were pseudo-first-order reactions.

An accurate costume structure design is based on the “Human Body-Costume” System, the most important and complex part in men’s garment is the design of “Armhole-Sleeve” part. This structure influences the form of Shoulder-Sleeve and wear comfortbility, as well as the mobile harmony of both human upper body and arms. The article analyses the main structural factors which influence the armhole-sleeve part in the rational men’s garment and makes a research into arm shape of human body and conditions of how both the armhole-sleeve and the arm shape well cooperate each other. Traditional body measuring can not accurately express the upper body spatial position relationship, however, this article makes an amendment to the arm measuring method. It suggests a new position and a new method to measure the arm of human body and it also generally classifies the outline of men’s arm. It ascertains the conditions of inharmony between the arm and the structural form of sleeve in men’s garment which leads to defects in sleeve. Through utilizing new parameters of structure in combination with the morphology of human body, the author makes a rational and effective plan to structural allocation, therefore, a static harmony between the outline of arm and the ready-made sleeve of men’s garment has been achieved, the happening of defects in sleeve has been decreased.

Orthogonal test was used to investigate the motorcyclists’ racing suit protector’s impact resistance. Three factors such as weight of the protector, content of three-dimensional crimp fiber, and content of vertical setting fiber were studied. The experimental results showed that each factor in different levels has significant influence on the result, but the content of three-dimensional crimp fiber is the key to the impact resistance. Considering the comfort and protective, the optimal process for manufacturing the protector is: weight 65g, the content of three-dimensional crimp fiber 20%, the content of vertical setting fiber 100%.

The generating mechanism of the staple yarn’s drafting waves during roller drafting is analyzed. It is assumed that the generation of drafting waves during roller drafting is mainly ascribed to the fiber-to-fiber static friction coefficient is greater than the dynamic one. It is proposed that a high frequency undulating wave is imposed on the fiber strand in the drafting zone of roller system so that a high frequency and slight relative movement occurs between the fibers in the drafting zone, and the fiber-to-fiber friction is dominated by the dynamic friction rather than the static one, and thus the “stick-slip” motion will be eliminated. As a result, the fiber binding effect causing drafting waves can be significantly reduced. This hypothesis is verified by experiments, and it can be applied to the development of new spinning drafting devices.

This paper introduces the structure of the biaxial circular weft knitted high performance polyethylene fabric and the circular knitting machine. It makes a detailed analysis of the problems of buckling phenomenon the fabric at the inner side of the needle cylinder during knitting and wrinkles occurred at the drawing area. The wavy curvilinear design of the inner wall of the needle cylinder is invented for the first time to solve the buckling problem due to the reason that the circular fabric diameter is bigger than that of the needle cylinder, and the intermittent inductive roll-up device is applied to remove the wrinkles resulted from the shrinkage of the binding stitch structure. The trial knitting shows that these modifications to the traditional circular knitting machine can effectively eliminate the buckling and wrinkle defects.
