UHMWPE fibers were treated by chromic acid oxidation and pyrrole vapor deposition respectively.The interfacial shear strength of the fiber/epoxy resin system was tested,and then calculated by finite element method.The calculated interfacial shear strength was compared with the experimental value.The results show that the calculated interfacial shear strength of chromic acid treated UHMWPE fibers/epoxy resin system revealed a better agreement with the experimental value,and slightly higher than the experimental value.Increasing pyrrole vapor deposition polymerization time,the calculated interfacial shear strength approached the experimental value.When pyrrole process was 1 h,the calculated value was nearest to the experimental value.

The electrospinning and drawing of polymer solution into fibers is simulated using the bead-chain model.The diameters of fibers electrospun under different process conditions are obtained by computing the dynamic variations of the thickness of the polymer jet.PVA solution is spun on a pilot electrospinning apparatus to investigate the effect of the collection distance on the fiber diameter.The fiber diameter decreases as the collection distance increases from 14 cm to 40 cm.The results indicate that the experimental data agree with the simulation values when the collection distance is shorter than 30 cm.

In order to investigate the spinning process of conducting fibers,the properties of polyester composites filled with conducting carbon black(CB) have been examined by differential scanning calorimetry,thermo-gravimetric analysis,ohmmeter,and rheometer.The results reveal that with increasing of the weight of CB in the composites,the glass transition temperature,melting temperature of CB/PET composites dropped slightly,but the crystallization temperature decreased remarkably,thermal stability of the CB/PET systems is enhanced,and the surface resistivity tends to saturation.The electrical conductivity of conducting composites is related to the dispersed state of CB particles in composites,and their spinning performance becomes poorer with increasing of the weight of CB.

Crystalline structure and thermal property of cellulose triacetate(CTA) and cellulose diacetate(CDA) were studied.After acetylation of cellulose,the allomorph of CTA changed and the crystallinity decreased;however,amorphism is dominant in CDA obtained by hydrolysis from CTA and spinning resulted in the reduction of crystallinity in CDA.TG analysis showed that thermal stability of CTA was better than that of CDA,and the existence of acetyl could enhance the thermal stability of cellulose acetate.DTA analysis indicated that the peaks of melting and decomposition overlapped in CTA;however,the melting peak appeared in a lower temperature and the interval between the peaks of melting and decomposition enlarged in CDA because of its imperfect crystallite;on the other hand,glass transition of CDA was more evident,and its T_g was higher than that of CTA.

Bamboo-pulp is practically used to prepare regenerated cellulose fibers and the properties of bamboo pulp have direct impact on the quality of the viscose fiber produced.The morphological,crystalline structure and chemical components of bamboo fiber and several kinds of pulp fibers were characterized and compared with each other by optical microscope,scanning electron microscope,fourier transform infrared analysis,wide-angle X-ray diffraction.The experimental results showed that,by a series of chemical degumming processing,the expansion of the pulp fibers occurred,and fibrillation structure was observed on their surfaces which exhibited no so smooth as that of bamboo fibers.Compared with bamboo fibers,pulp fibers contained decreased components owing to the processes of clearing away non-cellulose impurities.The crystalline degree of the pulp fibers had been greatly decreased,and cellulose Ⅰ had partly changed to cellulose Ⅱ in crystal structure.

The adsorption of cationic dye red with superfine sodium polystyrene sulfonate(SPSSNa) particles and the blend films of SPSSNa and polyvinyl alcohol were investigated by using ultraviolet-visible spectrophotometer.The results indicated that the adsorption process of cationic dye with SPSSNa particles followed Langmuir isotherm and Lagergren pesudo-second order kinetic equation.This implied a monolayer adsorption,and also the adsorption indicated a strong temperature-dependence.The adsorption of cationic dyes with the blend film was faster and stronger than that of pure PVA.

Based on the formation principle and process of the yarn in air jet vortex spinning(i.e.Murata vortex spinning or MVS),this paper discusses the spatial track of the fiber in air jet vortex spun yarn.The results show that the spatial configuration of the fiber is affected by parameters,such as delivery speed V_y,the distance L from the nip of front roller to the inlet of the hollow spindle,the mean angular velocity for a rotating fiber ω_f,fiber length l,and yarn diameter d_y and so on.When the V_y value and the L value are held fixed,the l value is bigger,and the core fiber length l_c is longer.When the V_y value and the l value are held fixed,the smaller L value will result in the bigger l_c value.For given the ω_f value and the V_y value,the wrapper width with increasing wrapper radius,l_(mw),increases along with increasing the d_y value.For given the d_y value and the V_y value,the l_(mw) value decreases along with increasing the ω_f value.For given the d_y value and the ω_f value,the l_(mw) value increases along with increasing the V_y value.For given the V_y value and the ω_f value,the wrapper number and width l_(rw) for the regular wrapper decreases along with increasing the d_y value.For given the V_y value and the d_y value,the wrapper number for the regular wrapper increases along with increasing the ω_f value,however,the l_(rw) value decreases along with increasing the ω_f value.For given the d_y value and the ω_f value,the wrapper number for the regular wrapper decreases along with increasing the V_y value,however,the l_(rw) value increases along with the V_y value.

It was somewhat difficult to use mathematical models of general polynomial to fit the silk size curve accurately,because the shape of the silk size curve was diverse.To improve precision in fitting the silk size curve,the paper proposed a new way to fit the silk size curve based on the analysis of the characteristics of the silk size curve.The silk size curve was first detached into two parts: the liner formation and the nonlinear formation,then the liner formation and the nonlinear formation were fitted respectively.The linear part was fitted directly using the linear function and the nonlinear was fitted by harmonic analysis and the least squares method.Good results were achieved.In order to make the silk size curve of fitting more practical in actual production,it advanced standardized methods of silk size curve and prediction method,that is,symmetric extension method,to estimate size values of both ends of the silk.

To research the effect of pin carding plate on removal of neps in the card slivers,nep tests to the card slivers under different processing conditions using pin carding plate,saw-tooth carding plate and taker-in grid under the card taker-in by USTER AFIS single fiber tester were done.The results show that: 1) within a smaller gauge range,the ability of removing neps and seed coat neps(SCN) of pin carding plate is stronger;the ability of removing neps and SCN of pin carding plate and saw-tooth carding plate are better than the taker-in grid program as a whole;2) when the gauge is larger,as a whole,the ability of removing neps of sawtooth carding plate are better than pin carding plate and that of the above two kinds of carding plate are worse than taker-in grid.The ability of removing SCN of carding plate and taker-in grid are different with the change of raw materials;3) when the gauge is smaller,neps diameter in the card slivers processed by saw-tooth carding plate is a bit larger.When the gauge is larger,neps diameter in the card slivers processed by pin carding plate is a bit larger.Compared with taker-in grid,neps diameter in the card slivers processed by carding plate is a bit smaller.

Because the size pick-up for the pre-wet sizing process cannot be obtained according to the relationship between the extrusion moisture regain of the sized yarn and the size pick-up,the method for predicting the size pick-up for the pre-wetting process is studied by the relationship between the extrusion moisture regain of the sized yarn and the size pick-up.A pilot sizing system with pre-wetting device is built,by which the experiment of the traditional sizing and pre-wet sizing for 100% cotton yarn is carried out respectively,with the size concentration changing between 8%~11%.Then the size pick-up of the sized yarn obtained in the above experiment is measured.Based on the established relationships between the size pick-up and the extrusion moisture regain of the sized yarn,the size pick-up of sized yarn in pre-wet sizing process is predicted.The predicted results show that the size pick-up of the sized yarn can be exactly predicted according to the extrusion moisture regain of the sized yarn and the decrease coefficient of the size concentration when the size concentration is given.

By using gray-level co-occurrence matrix(GLCM),a method for analyzing the fabric texture is developed.Firstly,we reduce the amount of calculations by compressing the image grayscales from 256 to 16;Then calculate the GLCM,we select the GLCM parameters ″energy″,″contrast″,″correlation″, ″entropy″ and(″inverse) difference moment″ to describe the textile texture,and compare the analysis results with the actual fabric texture.It shows that the algorithm could extract and analyze the texture of plain,twill and satin weave efficiently,and fabric texture classification can be further realized.

For improving the shaping,fitness,and stability of 3-D textile products,an in depth study was undertaken on the design of T-shaped 3-D fabrics with interweaving structure.According to the design,the weft wise orthogonal structure was adopted and the route of picks for weaving this kind of fabric was determined.It shows that the structural requirements of a specially shaped 3-D fabric can be met when the route of picks is so designed that they are interwoven with multi-layer of ends.This study has certain significance for designing 3-D fabrics with complex structures.

For developing new ways of producing environmentally protective textile composites for civil use,the flax/polypropylene(PP) composite samples was made with polypropylene as substrate and flax as reinforcing material on a flat machine.The mechanical properties of the samples such as the tensile strength,elastic recovery and bursting strength were tested and affecting factors were analyzed.The research shows that it is effective to improve its knitability by mix-knitting with the flax and PP.The samples have better tensile strength,elastic recovery and bursting strength when the volume fraction of flax/PP fiber is 50∶50.In respect of the tensile strength and bursting strength,the sample of full gauge rib stitch is advantageous over that of rib stitch,and vice versa in respect of elastic recovery.The sinker depth directly influences the mechanical properties of the flax/PP knitted samples,and it is recommended that sinker depth be small.

This paper studied the optimal technology of synthesizing the Gemini phosphate surfactant.The intermediate decyl-glycidol ether(I) of Gemini phosphate surfactant was synthesized with decanol and epichlorohydrin in the presence of phase-transfer catalyst;the intermediate decyl digomeric glycol(II) of Gemini phosphate surfactant was prepared by opening ring reaction of decyl glycide ether and glycol in the presence of potassium as catalyst;and the influence of type and dosage of phase-transfer catalysts was studied.The Gemini phosphate surfactant was synthesized with decyl digomeric glycol and phosphatizing agent P_2O_5 by phosphatizing.The influences of the ratio of reactants,temperature and time on the reaction were studied.Benzyl triethyl ammonium bromine was used as catalysis,the quantity of catalyst was 4%,the proportion of the materiel was 2∶1,the reaction temperature was 60℃,the reaction time was 6h,and the final yielding was 78.3%.

Acrylic copolymer /montmorillonite nano-size(Ⅰ) and poly(vinyl alcohol)/ montmorillonite nano-size(Ⅱ) each with different contents of montmorillonite were prepared respectively in presence of Na~+-MMT by in-situ intercalative polymerization of acrylic acid(AA),acrylamide(AM) and methyl acrylate(MA) in water solution,and by intercalation of poly(vinyl alcohol)(PVA) from solution, for sizing cotton and polyethylene terephthalate(PET) blended yarns.The interlayer space of montmorillonite in the nanocomposites was characterized by means of XRD,and the adhesion of the nano-sizes to the yarns and the strength of the sized yarns were tested.The results revealed that the degree of intercalation varies with amount of Na~+-MMT in the hybrid.The acrylic copolymer/Na~+-MMT nanocomposite size can improve the adhesion of the size to cotton,resulting in an increase of strength and elongation of the sized yarn.Whereas,the PVA/Na~+-MMT nanocomposite size can enhance the adhesion to the T/C blended yarn but have little influence on the strength and elongation.

Through maleate esterification of starch to introduce carbon-carbon double bonds onto starch,the graft copolymerization of acrylic acid with the above esterified starch was carried out in order to enhance the graft efficiency and improve the sizing properties of the grafted starch in warp sizing.The results indicated that the esterification can raise grafting efficiency by 10%~30% when the degree of substitution of starch maleate is in a range of(0.013 6) to (0.041 2).And the esterification also increases the adhesion of the grafted starch to fibers and improves its film property significantly.The experiment manifested that the modification extent was in a range of DS=(0.013 6)~(0.020 6.)

In order to investigate the differences between bamboo fibers and cotton when dyed with reactive dyes,bamboo fibers were dyed with a middle temperature reactive dye yellow ED.The Influence of process parameters,such as temperature,salt and alkali on the dyeing properties of bamboo fibers were analyzed.The optimal pretreatment and dyeing process were determined through orthogonal tests: H_2O_2(30%)(5 g/L),Na_2SiO_3(2 g/L),pH 11.0,and temperature(95 ℃) for pretreatment and,NaCl(60 g/L),Na_2CO_3(25 g/L),and temperature (60 ℃) for dyeing.

In order to achieve salt-free dyeing of cotton fibers with reactive dyes,the oxidized cotton fibers were obtained firstly by selective oxidation with sodium periodate.Subsequently,the HPB—NH_2 grafted oxidized cotton fibers were prepared by the reaction between the oxidized cotton fibers and the water-soluble amino-terminated hyperbranched polymer(HPB—NH_2),which was used as a grafting agent in aqueous solution.The mechanism of preparing the HPB—NH_2 grafted oxidized cotton fibers was discussed and Fourier transform infrared spectrophotometry(FT-IR) analysis indicated that all the aldehyde group of the oxidized cotton fibers have reacted with amino groups of HPB—NH_2.Reactive dyes were used to dye the HPB—NH_2 grafted oxidized cotton fabrics and their dyeing properties were tested.Results demonstrated that HPB—NH_2 grafted oxidized cotton fabrics displayed markedly enhanced color yield,and the washing fastness,rubbing fastness and leveling properties were satisfactory.

To investigate the antibacterial effect of fabrics treated by nano-TiO_2,the antibacterial property of fabrics treated with four kinds of doped nanoTiO_2 particles,i.e.,TiO_2-SiO_2、ZnO-TiO_2、Cu-TiO_2 and Ag-TiO_2 respectively was studied and evaluated from the viewpoint of kinetics under the condition of ultraviolet light.The results show that the bacterial inhibition rate of all the fabrics treated by the above 4 kinds nano-TiO_2 particles have reached 100% under ultraviolet light,kinetics studies show that the reaction is the first-order kinetics model,and the bactericidal reactions were in accordance with Langmuir-Himshelwood equation well;the fabrics treated by ZnO-TiO_2 has the highest antibacterial reaction rate:(2.185 min~(-1)).

To investigate the application properties of pigment based ink,ink jet printing was carried out with six kinds of pigment-based ink in(8 pass)(720 dpi) on various fabrics with different structures,including cotton,polyester,silk,tencel,cotton/polyester,cotton/nylon and polyester/nylon/cotton,and the properties such as color yield,color fastness,sharpness and fabric style of the printed fabrics were discussed.The experimental results revealed that the surface property of the fabric is the key factor influencing the quality of ink jet printing.As to dense weave fabrics of hydrophilic fibers,the higher the K/S value,more sharpness the prints,but slightly lower fastness because they are able to deposit ink on fabric surface.As for open weave fabrics of hydrophobic fibers such as thin polyester or silk fabrics,pretreatment is necessary to ensure fine and excellent printing.

Over the years few studies have been reported on the changing rule of seam puckers of fabrics,people usually depend on their experience for the control of seam puckers.For these reasons,a study of the properties and seam puckers at different directions of silk chiffon was undertaken.In this study,fabrics are cut and sewed separately in different directions at 10° interval from 0° to 360°,besides,45°,135°,225° and 315° directions are also considered.Properties of these samples are tested by FAST instrument,including bending rigidity,extensibility,cutting resistance and seam puckers(Sp) at different directions,and subjective evaluations on seam pucker are carried out in accordance with the related standard of AATCC.The regression equations between fabric mechanical properties and the evaluation on seam puckers at different directions are established,which may serve as a guide for designing fashion shape and apparel manufacturing.

This paper utilizes 3-D body scanner and Matin meter to measure about 1600 adult males,aged from 20 to 60 years old in the East China,the Middle China and the Southwest China,then sets up the men bodily form database.Analyzing the body data of the above three areas in detail,the paper has obtained the body features and laws of the height,the girth and the angle of adult males in the above three areas,that is,comparing with GB/T 1335—1997 they have increased at different margings.The paper discusses the relationships of the height,the girth and the angle between these areas and the difference between this findings and GB/T 1335—1997.

Based on comprehensive researches on historical documents and present treatise,the ″kwan″ was defined broadly and narrowly,and was divided into three types such as monomer style,separated style and compound style according to their body size,head band and wear style.And their meanings implied in the name,molding style and evolvement were summarized.It is pointed that the wear and use of Chinese ancient kwan were directly related to the system of the country,social custom,and personal moral training,but related to the status of the wearer,so people could make a clear identification of the wearer according to the headgear.It also marked that a male adult aristocrat owned certain social rights and duties.

This paper introduces the current status of the use of servo-control system in warp knitting field,elaborates the general theory of parameter adjustment,and proposes a method which is systemic and suits to the warp knitting servo-control system.It establishes an experimental platform consisting of Kollmorgen Corporation′s IL18-030A1 servo motor and CD5 series servo driver,discusses the specific problem arising from the real adjusting process,analyses the motion diagram and obtains further adjustment methods.Curve analysis shows that adjusting the parameters of warp knitting servo-control system according to the method given in this paper can fully meet production requirements.

In order to improve the warp tension control and prevent too much variations which result in negative impact on the fabric quality,Fuzzy-PID controller was used to control the warp tension based on researches on the existing control methods of warp tension.And some warp control rules are given according to researchers′ experience.On-line testing of the warp tension is affected by a test system consisting of the computer,software,and sensor and so on.The experiment is carried out on SAURER400 loom.The results show that it is effective in controlling the warp tension for restraining tension crest value and reducing warp end breakage,not only reducing tension variations,but also improving tension discrete index.And the starting marks of the fabric have been decreased significantly.

For optimizing the control system of the steel-wire napper,an embedded control system was developed,which use ARM platform implanted with the μC/OS-Ⅱ real time multitask kernel as the control centre and realize the control of the 6 separate motions of the napper through the RS-485 bus.Meanwhile,it is capable of making rapid response to the user′s request and various malfunction signals.The article gives the electric organization chart of the whole control system,describes the hardware and software configuration control system of the control board,and analyzes the performance of the system in practice.The test and probation shows that equipped with the embedded control system,the steel-wire napper exhibits excellent performances,and it is worthy of promotion for wide applications.

To improve the flexibility and intelligent performance of the 3-D textile composite preform stitching robot,this paper develops a vision tracking system of 3-D perform stitching robot according to the vision tracking technology based on structure light.A tracking sensor is designed by using of CCD and laser.A software system is developed under Microsoft Visual C++6.0.Considering the noises caused by burrs and braided pitches,binarization,median filtering and opening algorithms are used to preprocess the textile composite laser image;feature points are detected more quickly by the way of comparing vertical coordinates;stitching head excursion computation is realized based on the principle of optical triangulation.The test results show that the tracking system has high accuracy and good reliability,which can meet the demand of the robot stitching system.

The raw silk embedding slice was changed to HSI color model from RGB color model,after that the raw silk′s cross-section with some color was extracted from the background image based on HSI color model,and the processed color image was changed to gray image.The image of raw silk′s cross-section was turned to binary image through edge detecting,then the binary image of raw silk′s cross section was processed with image dilation and erosion after analyzing the shape and the size of it,and the whole raw silk′s cross-section was got.Finally the characteristic parameters of raw silk′s cross-section were gained by using the image matrix processing.The results indicted that this method can gain the characteristic parameters of raw silk′s cross-section exactly.

The fabric image was processed with Gauss template smoothing pretreatment,and average grey value of columns and rows of the normal fabric image in small window was extracted.Mid grey value of the yarn evenness and the space between yarns were worked out through K-means clustering.Besides,average grey value and fluctuating range of mid grey value of the normal fabric image were also figured out.By comparing mid grey value of the image being checked and of normal fabric image,whether the fluctuating range of the former went beyond that of normal fabric image was judged,and whether there were flaws in the image being checked was distinguished and its location was lined out exactly.

Format processing of 3-D body scan data is carried out through analyzing the data file structure,and then key data points of each hierarchical level are extracted.The improved Delaunay triangulation algorithm is used to these key points construct these key points into triangular plane and determine the relationship between the key points,and construct the OBJ file format model which can be recognized by commonly used 3-D modeling software,thus the corresponding human body virtual model is obtained.The experimental results show that this data processing method is simple,rapid and suitable to the establishment of massive individuality manikin models.
